Seasons change.

The urgency of life is never as present than at life’s end. The incredible human desire to wake up one more day, reveals both the hunger to live and also our struggles to accept life’s disappointments. But there it is, time runs out on us all and we never know when that will happen.

Having lost two close family members just recently, I am humbled by life’s strength and by its fragility. Our health is indeed our wealth, for it sometimes defines our duration. The gift of life and how we choose to spend it is ours to decide. A life spent making others feel good about their own lives is a life well spent.

Support for others takes no precise form. How we make others feel, however, is the way we are remembered. We see it in the human response to a person passing, who shows up, what they say and how unified the message, these define our legacy.

Our impact on others comes from our heart’s intent. The most naturally offered element, largely given us from birth and shaped by our life experiences. This native cause comes forth without effort and requires introspective work should we wish it to change. At the end of our days, our signature offering to the world we leave.

In a way, our particular lasting impression is one of which we are not always aware. It just is. We live, we interact and we go forth. The residue of our being is our essence, that over which we rarely exert any attempt to alter. We come and we go and we are.

Every impression is our life legacy.
